Synopsis:
When her mother sends Bella (Stewart) to live with her father, she meets a mysterious boy named Edward (Pattinson), who’s unlke anyone she has ever met. As they get caught up in a unorthodox romance, Bella discovers Edward is a vampire who hasn’t aged since 1918. Based on the novel by Stephanie Meyer.
Our Thoughts:
Cedric Diggory and the older sister from Zathura (2005) team up to bring the best-selling novel by Stephanie Meyer to the big screen in Twilight, due out this December.
Alongside Kristen Stewart (Zathura (2005)) and Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (2005)), this film includes a cast whose name-recognition is growing.
From Peter Facinelli (The Scorpion King (2002)) and Billy Burke (Ladder 49 (2003), Untraceable (2008)) to new kids Kellan Lutz (Prom Night (2008)) and Cam Gigandet (Never Back Down (2008)), the cast looks to be combining supporting actors of the past with new up-and-comers in the teen movie world.
But will Cedric, Zathura (2005)’s older sister and an eclectic supporting cast make this the must-see vampire movie this winter, or is this strictly going to be a hit among teens?
From the looks of it, Twilight should do decent business on the big screen with teenyboppers who loved Never Back Down (2008), The Covenant (2006) and Prom Night (2008).
As for those of us whose teen days are a memory, unless the buzz gets a lot more intense, we’ll most likely be happy to wait for the DVD to check out Twilight.
