TV To Watch: ‘CSI: Miami’
Plot: Horatio Caine (Caruso) leads a new team of forensic investigators in the South of Florida in this spin-off series to C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investgations. Among his team are Calleigh Duquesne (Procter), a ballistics expert; Eric Delko (Rodriguez), an underwater recovery expert; Natalia Boa Vista (LaRue), a sexy lab guru, and Alexx Woods (Alexander), a coroner who treats her dead like living patients.
Not content with the phenemenon that CSI: Crime Scene Investigations had become, CBS decided to add a 2nd CSI to it’s roster. Moving the location to Miami, FL, and bringing old NYPD Blue star David Caruso back to television, CSI: Miami began September 23, 2002.
While not quite yet up to the perfection that the original CSI continues to showcase every week, CSI: Miami has started to build quite a following of it’s own.
The show, set in the heat of Miami, Florida, while staying true to the standards the original has set, mix it up a bit more (in fact, one episode started at the end and ran us back through to the beginning).
This originality, despite it’s spin-off status, have us tuning up our DVR each and every week.
This year, they started off Season 6 with a new twist, as Horatio Caine’s never-before-mentioned son pops up as a suspect in a murder investigation…and the promos showcasing Caine’s broken sunglasses lead us to think that big things are in store this season.
CSI: Miami airs Mondays at 10pm on CBS.
