“C.S.I.”

Synopsis:

A Las Vegas Police Department forensics lab works to solve cases by “following the evidence”. The team is lead by Gil Grissom (Petersen), a former coroner, and Catherine Willows (Helgenberger), a former exotic dancer. Assisting them in the field are Agents Nick Stokes (Eads) and Greg Sanders (Szmanda). Dr. Albert Robbins (Hall), the head coroner, and Capt. Jim Brass (Guilfoyle) also help the team find out whodunit each and every week.

Why We Watch:

We started watching “C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigations” on a whim a few years back - and immediately became hooked. We immediately set up our DVR to start recording every episode we’d missed - and discovered that SpikeTV broadcasted a minimum of 2 episodes a day.

Produced by hot-shot movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer, “C.S.I.” has become enormously popular, rating #1 in the rankings almost every week, prompting a sudden rush at forensic science majors in colleges across the US, and even spawning 2 spin-offs: “CSI: Miami”and “C.S.I.: NY” (Heck, “C.S.I.” even got Quentin Tarantino to direct the season finale - “Grave Matters” - in 2005!)

While most everyone has seen at least one episode of this series by now, if you haven’t been keeping up, don’t worry about it. While some things do continue over several episodes, the main focus of each episode is still finding out whodunit, and the excitement of watching the evidence come together is still interesting.

After the major shake-ups of the 8th season (with 2 major cast members leaving - in different ways), Season 9 looks to be starting with the season 8 finale shocker. With some many shake-ups recently - and a internet rumor of William Petersen upcoming exit from the show possibly adding another major shake-up - things are decidely up in the air for the 9th season of the show.

Will “C.S.I.” manage to recover from it’s losses from the 8th season - and possibly the loss of Grissom this season? We’re not sure -but we’re definitely going to be watching every moment of this upcoming season to find out.

Check it out (or DVR it like we do) Thursdays at 9pm on CBS.
