the Mind’s Chew Toy

Synopsis:

When Caitlyn’s mother, Samantha Caine, is murdered, Caitlyn looks for the one man who may know who is responsible - P.I. Mitch Hennessey (Jackson).

Our Thoughts:

While I thoroughly enjoyed the craziness of the first film, which starred Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson, the movie’s poor showing in theaters seemed to prohibit a sequel from ever appearing - unless it was straight to video.

But, apparently I wasn’t the only one who loved Jackson’s nutty private eye and Davis’ psychosis-laden assassin - according to an mtv.com interview, Mr. Jackson himself loves the film, and is planning on a sequel!

While the sequel apparently won’t be asking Ms. Davis to come back for round 2, and instead will be focusing on her daughter - all grown up now - on a vengeance shtick, more of Mitch is all we need anyway. After all, he MADE the first film - his lighting-a-cigarette-in-the-middle-of-the-street-after-being-thrown-from-a-car scene still sticks in my mind to this day as one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

But, who should play the now grown-up daughter? Off the top of my head, here are my 4 nominations:

1. Jessica Biel
2. Spencer Locke
3. Jessica Alba
4. Bryce Dallas Howard

But, with this in the VERY early planning stages, chances are we’re going to have to wait a while to see what they come up with.
