Plot: When upscale, happily unmarried San Francisco couple Kate (Witherspoon) and Brad (Vaughn) find themselves socked in by fog on Christmas morning, their exotic vacation plans morph into the family-centric holiday they had, until now, gleefully avoided. Out of obligation - and unable to escape - they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities.
Plot: Brennan (Ferrell) and Dale (Reilly) have spent their lives as coddled single children, living with their respective parent. But when their parents marry each other, Brennan and Dale have to make the best of their new situation.

After crawling into Santa’s sack, he was adopted by an elf (Newhart). 30 years later, he discovers he’s not a true elf, and forges his way to New York to meet his father (Caan).
