Shallow Hal (2001)Plot: Hal (Black) is shallow. To him, all women are solely based on looks. If they aren’t gorgeous, they aren’t for him. Then he runs into Anthony Robbins, the TV guru, who changes his outlook on women, allowing him to see only the “inner beauty.” He meets Rosemary (Paltrow), who he starts to date, and can’t figure out why everyone keeps making fun of her. His friend (Alexander), worried about his now seemingly delusional friend, gets Anthony Robbins to reverse what he did. Now Hal must decide if Rosemary’s “inner beauty” is enough.
Orange County (2002)Plot: Realizing he wants to become a writer and escape his family, Shaun Brumder (Hanks) decides to apply for Stanford, but isn’t accepted - only later finding out they received the wrong transcript. His brother Lance (Black) decides to help him get into Stanford by going to meet the dean of students. Will Shaun be able to escape from his drunk mother, chemically-fried brother, and over-achiever father and get into Stanford?
