- “The Cutting Edge” kicks off the show, with Mr. McMahon as Edge’s special guest. Speaking in weird accents, Mr. McMahon tells Edge that he’s going to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at Vengeance against Batista.

- After the match, Mark Henry attacks Little Boogeyman.
- Vickie Guerrero announces 2 matches for tonight: Edge vs. Chris Benoit and MVP vs. Batista
- Mr. McMahon goes into Teddy Long’s office, where Teddy, Vickie Guerrero and Kristal are talking about Vickie’s first announcement. Teddy, speaking softly to Mr. McMahon, says there might be a “problem”. Mr. McMahon agrees, and says he knows exactly what the problem is - it’s Kristal! Then, continuing in a stage whisper, Mr. McMahon tells Teddy that Kristal is the problem because she’s only half Teddy’s age.

- Backstage, after Jillian puts down Ashley’s looks and talent, Ashley tells Jillian her voice sounds like “Roseanne Barr signing the National Anthem”. Jillian attacks Ashley, then takes off, with Ashley in hot pursuit. Meanwhile, Mr. McMahon is carrying on a conversation with a still injured Matt Hardy. Jillian runs by with Ashley chasing her - and Ashley accidentally spills Mr. McMahon’s coffee on him. Mr. McMahon suspends Ashley indefinitely.
- Deuce N’ Domino def. Matt Hardy in a 2-On-1 Handicap Match
- MVP vs. Batista ends in No Contest when Edge interrupts the match to try to spear Batista…and gets a spear from Batista instead before scrambling out of the ring.
