• Edge and pals are in the ring with Vickie Guerrero, who announces that the World Heavyweight Championship Match tonight between The Undertaker and Batista is no No Disqualifications.
  • CM Punk comes out. Edge and Chavo berate him, and CM Punk responds by saying he thinks winning the Money-In-The-Bank Ladder Match was a better way to get to the top than “sleeping with the boss.”. As Edge rages, CM Punk says he just came to remind everyone he has a title shot whenever he wants it.
  • Edge tells Punk he should think twice before cashing it on him after he wins the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash.
  • Laughing at Edge’s ego, Punk says he was thinking about Batista - who can probably beat Edge - or The Undertaker - who he knows can beat Edge.
  • Edge tells Punk to shut up before he “makes a lesson out of him” - and Punk promptly agrees to the match.

  • MVP comes to the ring, telling Michael Cole to leave. As he does, MVP tells Hardy to “stop telling lies.” MVP claims that Hardy is jealous of MVP, and MVP can see it in his eyes.
  • Hardy tells MVP it’s not jealousy MVP sees, it’s confidence.
  • MVP says he hoped they could move past this and become friends again. When Matt says “no way,” MVP kicks Hardy on his surgically repaired knee, then hits Hardy in the head with the championship belt.

  • Batista comes into Vickie’s office, and says he wants to thank her for the World Heavyweight Championship Match tonight, and that it’s now No Disqualification - but he’s not naive. He knows that Vickie wants him and The Undertaker to take it to the limit tonight so that her boyfriend will have it easy at Backlash. Batista tells her he’s going to give her what she wants. He says he’s going to go to war with The Undertaker tonight and win - but then he’s going to go to Backlash and beat Edge to a pulp.
  • The Undertaker def. Batista in a No Disqualification Match to retain his World Heavyweight Championship after Shawn Michaels interferes and superkicks Batista
