- The Undertaker makes his way to the ring. Saying he usually doesn’t talk about “taking souls” - he just does it. He goes on to say that he will step into the Royal Rumble in 9 days - the same one he won last year. He says he’s come out to issue a warning to the 29 other men in the match - “if you stand before me, you will before me.”
- Big Daddy V makes his way to the ring, accompanied by Matt Striker. Striker says there is one big difference between last year and this year - Big Daddy V wasn’t in last year’s Royal Rumble. Striker asks how The Undertaker will knock Big Daddy V over the rope - and The Undertaker just gestures for him to get in the ring. Striker proclaims that Big Daddy V will win the Royal Rumble, then Big Daddy V starts making his way to the ring. The Undertaker and Big Daddy V battle back and forth outside the ring, until The Undertaker knocks Big Daddy V into the steel steps, causing Striker to pull Big Daddy V up the ramp.
- The Great Khali def. Finlay when the ref stops the match as Finlay is unable to escape from Khali’s Vice Grip.
- Backstage, Edge talks to Vickie Guerrero, telling her she’s happy she was finally able to take the brace off. Vickie says she meant what she said about Edge being a good father figure. They are about to make out when Teddy Long interrupts, and lets them know he’s still standing there. They send him off to get food, and are about to make out when Chavo Guerrero shows up. He says that he has had second thoughts about what he said last week, and tells Edge he’s a pretty good guy…then asks if they could become one big, happy family. When Edge smiles and nods, Vickie gladly agrees.
- Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore def. Deuce N’ Domino in a Tag Team Match
- Backstage, Finlay asks The Great Khali why he let Khali get his hands on his son. Vince says on RAW 01.14.08, Finlay called him a liar, and now Finlay owes him an apology, which Finlay does deliver. Then, Vince makes a match for next week: The Great Khali vs. Finlay in a Belfast Brawl.
- Batista def. Mark Henry
- MVP hosts “The VIP Lounge”, and brings out his guest, Ric Flair. Ric says MVP doesn’t have what it takes to beat him. MVP reminds him of Vengeance when MVP beat Ric Flair, and says he will beat Ric again at Royal Rumble and retire him. Ric Flair interrupts MVP’s “half-man, half-amazing” spiel to say he “is the man.” He looks at his loss to MVP as a blemish on his record that he needs to record. MVP says again he’s going to retire Ric, and says it will be the greatest day of his life. Flair gets ready to wrestle, but MVP says they are going to save that for the Royal Rumble, and says when MVP beats Flair 1-2-3, “the Greatest Of All Time isn’t better than me.” Flair goes to pick up his coat - and slaps MVP down before heading out of the ring.
- Michelle McCool def. Layla
- Eve is coming to SmackDown soon.
- Jamie Noble runs into Michelle McCool backstage, and congratulates her on her win. They are interrupted by a sudden delivery of red roses. Michelle thanks Jamie Noble, but Chuck Palumbo shows up and says they are from him. Chuck says he wants to apologize for last week. Michelle is his best friend, and he should never have taken out his frustrations on her. He tells her he doesn’t want to lose her, and she assures him he won’t. Jamie starts arguing with Palumbo, and Michelle interrupts, telling them they need to get along for her. They both agree.
- Rey Mysterio is making his way to the ring backstage when he is stopped by Vickie Guerrero, who wishes him good luck in his match. Rey just shakes his head and says “I can’t believe you, Vickie.”
- Rey Mysterio & CM Punk def. Edge & Chavo Guerrero by DQ in a Tag Team Match when Edge attacks Rey Mysterio with a chair from behind.
- After the match, Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins attack CM Punk and Rey Mysterio, ending with Edge delivering a spear to Rey Mysterio.
