Synopsis:
Two veteran NYPD detectives, Fisk (Pacino) and Cowan (De Niro), are called into to investigate the murder of a notorious pimp - a murder that bears a striking resemblance to murders committed years before. The only problem? They thought they caught the killer and put him behind bars.
Our Thoughts:
At last, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro reunite on-screen! After the long awaited first meeting of these two - against one another no less - in Heat turned out so phenomenally well, many have wondered when the day would come for a second meeting.
Finally, this September, that day arrives with Righteous Kill. This time around, Pacino and De Niro aren’t foes, they’re allies - partners, actually - in a serial murder case that is bound to create lots of tension and dynamic sequences. But, do these two work together better as foes, or is this the buddy cop picture the world has been waiting for?
Either way, these two will no doubt light up the film, and Righteous Kill is bound to be a hit right out of the box. True, they have a few snags to deal with on the way (50 Cent, in only his second movie and the sometimes waaaay off John Leguizamo), but the intensity of Pacino and De Niro should keep the movie rolling right along, no matter what obstacles are thrown in their way.
Most likely, the worst part about this film will be it’s ending - and not knowing when these two iconic actors will work together again.
