Synopsis:
Two former college roommates, Charlie (Sandler) and Alan (Cheadle), run into each other again years later. Alan, who is overcome with the responibilities of familyhood, is shocked at the changes in Charlie, who is still trying to recover from losing his family on 9/11. Their rekindled friendship becomes a lifeline for the two men, who are both in need of a trusted friend at this pivotal moment in their lives.
Our Thoughts:
I know…first thing most people think when they see Adam Sandler - comedy, right? Wrong. This film looks to be one of Sandler’s more serious roles.
While he was good in the quirky Punch-Drunk Love, it’s kinda iffy if his loyal fans will flock to see this one.
But, I’m betting with exceptional actor Don Cheadle backing him up, this could turn out to be a high point in Sandler’s career.
