- Backstage, Mr. McMahon comes up to John Cena and smirks “The Champ Is Here”. Cena responds by saying unless ECW stands for “Extremely Crazy White Guy”, all he sees is a stooge in a do-rag. Shawn Michaels shows up and demands another shot at the WWE Championship. Vince agrees that Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena should happen tonight - but that Shawn has to earn his title shot. If Shawn Michaels can defeat John Cena tonight, then his rematch for the WWE Championship will take place on next Monday’s RAW.
- Edge def. Randy Orton
- During the match, Edge spears Orton off of the ring and onto the announcer’s table! Randy eventually recovers enough to go for the RKO back in the ring, but Edge counters, spearing Orton for the win.
- Todd Grisham interviews new Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella, who announces his first title defense will take place next week on RAW.
- In a taped interview after last night’s Backlash 04.29.07, RVD calls Mr. McMahon’s win “a day of loss” for the spirit of ECW.
- Back in his office, Mr. McMahon, sick of RVD, asks Shane if Umaga is all set to destroy RVD tonight. Shane assures him that he is.
- In an interview with Maria, Edge states he’s going to insert himself back in the title picture, no matter what anyone else thinks of it.
- Jeff Hardy def. Johnny Nitro
- After the match, Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch (who have been saying nothing but good things about The Hardys while accompanying JR and Jerry Lawler at the announcers’ table), grab the mic and announce they want to come in the ring and shake Jeff’s hand. Wary, Jeff backs away from them without shaking their hands.
- A preview for The Condemned (2007) is shown.
- Shane McMahon comes to the ring to introduce Umaga.
- Umaga def. RVD after catching RVD by the throat when he attempts the Five-Star Frog Splash.
- During the match, JR and Jerry Lawler mention that Lashley is visiting an orthopedic surgeon in Birmingham, Alabama.
- Backstage, Carlito apologizes to Ric Flair for his actions last week, and says he has put them in a match with The World’s Greatest Tag Team to prove to Ric Flair that he can win. Ric Flair tells him he will only give Carlito one more chance.
- Shawn Michaels’ music hits, but Shawn is a no show. The cameras go into the back, only to find Shawn Michaels unconscious. Coach accuses John Cena, who pushes Coach against a wall and shakes with rage…but doesn’t answer.
- Carlito & Ric Flair vs. The World’s Greatest Tag Team ends in No Contest when Carlito attacks his own partner, Ric Flair. Flair and Carlito battle their way to the top of the ramp, where a rake of the eyes to Flair allows Carlito to escape to the back.
- Edge is found unconscious in the back.
- A preview for The Condemned (2007) is shown, focusing on the various locations of the film.
- Mr. Kennedy comes out and announces he will cash in his Money In The Bank at Wrestlemania XXIV 03.30.08.
- Randy Orton is found unconscious in the back.
- Jonathan Coachman breaks the bad news to Mr. McMahon back in his office. Mr. McMahon tells Coach to go get John Cena and send him to the ring, where Mr. McMahon says John Cena will discover who is responsible for the attacks.
- Candice Michelle & Mickie James def. Victoria & Melina in a Tag Team Match.
- In a recorded segment from last night’s Backlash 04.29.07, The ECW Originals - Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, RVD and The Sandman - express their distaste and disgust with Mr. McMahon becoming the new ECW Champion.
- John Cena comes to the ring and says “whoever you are: if you want some, come get some”. The Great Khali’s music hits. John Cena attacks Khali before he makes it in the ring, but The Great Khali shrugs off the attack and goes after Cena. John Cena manages to pick The Great Khali up into the FU, but Khali counters and delivers his chokeslam…leaving The Great Khali standing triumphant over the fallen champ.
