- Orton agrees to a match tonight, with one condition - tonight, they fight for Jeff Hardy’s Intercontinental Championship. Jeff easily agrees. Orton says he’s glad, because Hardy is fresh out of brothers to kick in the head. Hardy repeats that he’s going to take Orton’s title at the Royal Rumble, and tonight, he’s taking Orton out.

He says it’s unfair, but he guesses rules are rules. He goes on to say that he was going to challenge Mr. Kennedy tonight anyway, so they should just make their match a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match…and Trevor Murdoch makes his way to the ring for the match.

- After the match, Mr. Kennedy appears on the trinitron, and says Shawn Michaels’ ego just won’t get over the fact that Mr. Kennedy is better than he is. Saying he has nothing left to prove to Michaels, Mr. Kennedy only agrees to the match next week due to what Michaels has done for the wrestling business, before calling himself the present and the future of sports entertainment.
- Backstage, Mr. McMahon tells Hornswoggle he’s proud of him, and says he’s going to give Hornswoggle a little Royal Rumble Match experience with a mini-Royal Rumble Match that will include Mr. Kennedy, Mankind and Batista. He tells Hornswoggle if he does well in that match, he may have a chance of winning the Royal Rumble and going on to main event Wrestlemania XXIV 03.30.08. When Hornswoggle agrees with Vince that the chances of that are slim, Vince goes into a rage, grabbing Hornswoggle and muttering “if you’re last name is McMahon, anything is possible” before calming down again.
- Snitsky def. Triple H by DQ when Triple H hits Snitsky with a chair after narrowly avoiding Snitsky slamming the steps into his head.
- After the match, Triple goes under the ring for his sledgehammer and delivers a blow to Snitsky, before delivering the Pedigree.
- As Triple H is walking up the ramp, Mr. McMahon appears on the screen behind him, and tells him he needs to calm down. Triple H slams the sledgehammer into the screen, then backs up and throws the sledgehammer through the screen.
- Backstage, Mr. McMahon puts Triple H back in the Royal Rumble Match if he can win his match next week…then refuses to say anything more about it.
- JBL comes to the ring as red and black balloons fall from the ceiling. JBL says that Chris Jericho isn’t here this week, thanks to what JBL did to him last week on RAW. He then tells Jericho to move aside, and tells Jericho’s kids that their dad is a coward and weak. JBL then tells Jericho if he comes to the Royal Rumble, then “our savior” will need to be saved himself. As JBL leaves toward the back, he pauses several times as fireworks explode around him.
- Hornswoggle def. “Mini” Makind, “Mini” Mr. Kennedy, “Mini” Batista and “Mini” Kane in a “Mini” Royal Rumble Match. When the Great Khali makes his way to the ring, Hornswoggle runs to the corner - and Finlay attacks Khali with a shillelagh, sending him out of the ring. Finlay then tosses Runjin Singh out of the ring as well before holding Hornswoggle’s hand up in victory.
- Backstage, Mr. McMahon tells Finlay that he’s glad he’s there. When Vince tells Finlay he had nothing to do with Khali coming out, Finlay calls him a liar. When Finlay grabs Vince and tells him not to back out of their deal, Vince tells him he told Finlay before to never mention that. Telling Finlay he can take out his agression against The Great Khali on FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN this Friday, Vince warns Finlay to never touch him again.

Orton goes to deliver a knee to Hardy on the stage, but Hardy stands up and tosses Orton over his shoulder and off the side of the ramp. Staring at Orton, Hardy climbs the stage supports, stops at the first level, then climbs to the very top and does a Swanton Bomb onto Randy Orton!
- Both Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy are carried on stretchers to the back, but Jeff Hardy manages to raise a defiant hand as he is carried away.
