Synopsis:

A group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities, are hiding from a clandestine U.S. government agency. They must utilize their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.

Our Thoughts:

Chris Evans, whose best known for playing Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four (2005), gets psychic powers and teams up with wunderkid Dakota Fanning for the new film Push.

While most of us haven’t seen Dakota Fanning since Charlotte’s Web, audiences are sure to tune in for any new big film from her. Is she in her gawky teen stage, or is she still the sweet little kid we remember from Man On Fire (2004) and War Of The Worlds (2005)?

As for the plot, does anyone else think this sounds like Firestarter (with Dakota replacing Drew in the “hot seat”) has grown up a little and gotten herself a group of friends? Sounds fun to me - but I may be way off on that.

Psychic powers and secret government agencies sound pretty good - after all, if it worked for “Heroes” and “Dark Angel,” why wouldn’t it work on the big screen?

Until I see a trailer, however, I’m going to hold judgement on whether this one should be seen in theaters. It sounds great - but whether the film is able to make the most of it’s actors and premise remains to be seen.

Let’s hope Dakota, Chris and Djimon Hounsou can make Push more entertaining than director Paul McGuigan’s last film, Wicker Park.
