- GM Armando Estrada introduces Chavo Guerrero. Chavo says that 2007 ended early for him, after being injured by Rey Mysterio. While he was home, Chavo watched the emergence of CM Punk, and hearing people call Punk the “future of WWE” made him sick. Before Chavo can keep ranting, CM Punk comes to the ring.
- Chavo says Punk isn’t the future of the WWE, Punk is just a stepping stone for Chavo, and Chavo proclaims he will be champion again in 2008. Punk says he’s nobody’s stepping stone and if Chavo wants to challenge Punk for his title, Punk is standing right in front of him. Estrada says if Chavo wants a title shot at ECW, he has to win his match tonight…against CM Punk.
- Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore & Kelly Kelly def. The Miz, John Morrison & Layla in a Mixed Tag Team Match
- Next week: Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore vs. John Morrison & The Miz in a 15 Minutes Of Fame Tag Team Match, where whoever makes the most pins in 15 minutes wins.
- Tazz talks to Colin Delaney in the ring. After showing him a bit of his loss in his first match against Shelton Benjamin on ECW 12.18.07, Tazz asks Colin how he’s feeling this week. Colin says that he’s gotten his first match out of the way, and he’s feeling a lot more confident this week. Tazz asks Colin if he had any New Year’s resolutions. Colin says he resolved to become a WWE Superstar in 2008.

- Earlier today, when asked about his New Year’s resolution, Shelton Benjamin says his resolution is to show his true value. Since value is measured in wealth, and wealth is measured in gold, he’s going to take home gold this year by becoming the ECW Champion.

- CM Punk def. Chavo Guerrero by count-out, so Chavo does not get a shot at the ECW Championship
