Synopsis:
On their first day of high school, 3 kids meet the school bully. Trying to live out their school days in peace, they place an ad in ‘Solider Of Fortune’ magazine…and get Drillbit Taylor (Wilson), a down-on-his-luck guy who enrolls them in some physical and mental training.
Our Thoughts:
Judd Apatow and Scott Rogen, hot off their successes with Knocked Up and Superbad look to keep the hits rolling with their latest film, Drillbit Taylor.
Sticking with the kid-oriented theme that worked for them in Superbad, they tell a story about 3 kids fighting back against the school bully - and toss in as much physical and low-brow humor as possible, as is their trait.
Despite Owen Wilson’s recent headlines, this film should be another hit for the dynamic duo writing team of Apatow and Rogen.
Since I haven’t seen Knocked Up or Superbad yet, I think I’ll probably see at least Superbad first before I decide if I actually want to see this film. That way, I’ll find out for myself if the Apatow/Rogen team is the real deal - or if it’s as overrated as the Spider-Man movie series.
