Gangs Of New York (2002)

Plot: During a gang war for the Five Points area of New York, a young Irish boy sees his father killed by Bill “The Butcher” Cutting (Day-Lewis). 16 years later, he (DiCaprio) returns to the place of his childhood to find that “The Butcher” now controls the Five Points. Now calling himself Amsterdam, the boy befriends “The Butcher” in hopes of someday getting close enough to kill him.

Gattaca (1997)

Plot: In the not too distant future, genetics is used at birth to determine everything about you: where you can work, how long you will live, what your achievements will be - everything. Determined to prove the system wrong (and get his chance at going to the stars), imperfect -gened Vincent (Hawke) meets up with Jerome (Law), who has perfect genes - but isn’t going anywhere, thanks to a car accident that left him without the use of his legs. Now, Vincent must become Jerome - and make sure not one single cell of his own is ever found.

Get Shorty (1995)

Plot: Chili Palmer (Travolta) is a mobster from Miami. En route to finding a man who owes the mob some money, he meets up with Harry Zimm, a low budget movie producer in LA. Being a huge fan of the movies, and not a big fan of his job in the mob, Chili wants in on Harry’s next picture. With “B” actress Karen Flores’ (Russo) help, Chili wants to get Martin Weir (Devito) for the picture. Throw in the local muscle in the form of Bo (Lindo), and Ray Bones (Farina), Chili’s new boss, and the odds of Chili getting “Shorty” are starting to look grim. Based on the novel by Elmore Leonard.

Ghost In The Shell (1996)

Plot: In the near future, cyborgs (half human, half robot), are a reality - as are sentinent robots. One of these robots, Major, is working for the top secret Section 9 when they discover an ambassador’s aide that has been “hacked”, i.e., someone has broken into her brain. It looks to be the work of the mysterious “Puppetmaster”. Section 9 starts a search for this man, even while the “hackings” continue. But is the Puppetmaster really an enemy, or just a project that has escaped?

Ghost Rider (2007)

Plot: Young Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stunt rider, sells his soul to the devil (Fonda). The deal goes sour, yet years later, the devil uses that soul to transform the now grown-up Johnny (Cage) into an eerie flame-encased spectre bent on doing the devil’s business - with Johnny turning back into his normal self by the light of the day. Now, Blaze’s new night persona must bring the devil’s own son Blackheart (Bentley) back to his father’s side…while his day self tries to reconcile with his long-lost girlfriend (Mendes).

Ghost Ship (2002)

Plot: Celebrating after a successful job, a salvage team is approached by a man who claims to have seen an ocean liner adrift in the sea. For a percentage, he’ll tell them where it is. They agree and come across the Antonia Graza, caught on a current, with a hole in her hull, heading for certain destruction…and with a lot of gold in her cargo hold. After an accident destroys their boat and leaves them stranded on the Antonia Graza, they realize the ship already has a few inhabitants…and those inhabitants want to make the salvage team part of the passenger list on this Ghost Ship.

The Girl Next Door (2004)

Plot: Matthew (Hirsch), a senior in high school, is a great student and has already been accepted to Georgetown. To get to Georgetown, however, he must get a scholarship by proving his moral fiber. Then, Danielle (Cuthbert) moves in next door. He immediately falls for her, only to later discover her sordid past. Now, as her past begins to make itself known, he must weave his way through the tangle his life has become and discover what’s truly important to him.

Godzilla (1998)

Plot: A mysterious attack at sea and an enormous footprint in Tahiti prompt the military to call on Nick (Broderick), a biologist researching nuclear fallout effects on animals. Nick, and the rest of New York finally see the newest creature to attack: Godzilla, an enormous lizard who can breathe fire. After a news leak gets Nick kicked out of the military operation, he must team up with ex-girlfriend Audrey (Pitillo), cameraman “Animal” (Azaria), and mysterious Frenchman Phillipe (Reno) to save New York from this latest menace.

The Golden Compass (2007)

Plot: In an alternative world, Lyra (Richards), a 12-year-old girl, starts out trying to rescue a friend who’s been kidnapped by a mysterious organization known as the Gobblers - and winds up on an epic quest to save not only her world, but ours as well. Based on the novel by Philip Pullman.

Gone Baby Gone (2007)

Plot: Patrick (Affleck) and his girlfriend (Monaghan) are private investigators. They are called in by a neighbor to help search for a young girl in their Boston neighborhood that has gone missing. But, the closer they get to finding the girl, the more they discover that nothing is as it seems. In the end, they will have to risk everything if they want to bring this little girl back home to her mother. Based on the novel by Dennis Lehane.

Gone In 60 Seconds (2000)

Plot: Randall “Memphis” Raines (Cage) was a car thief - one of the best, in fact - until he quit the life, 6 years ago. When his brother, Kip (Ribisi), gets in trouble from big-time thug Raymond Calitri (Eccleston), Memphis has to go back to life, and steal 50 cars for Calitri in one night…or Kip dies. On top of that, he’s got a cop (Lindo) who is dying to nab him for grand theft auto and a gang of car thieves that want him dead. A remake of the 1974 film.

Good Luck Chuck (2007)

Plot: Cursed when he was 10, Charlie Logan (Cook) just can’t seem to find the right girl…and discovers that everyone he has ever slept with has found true love - with the man after him. As his reputation as a “good luck charm” starts to spread and women line up for a “quickie”, he discovers he’s lonelier than ever…until he meets Cam (Alba). As a romance develops, he’s got to figure out how to break the curse - before the girl of his dreams winds up with the next guy.

The next thing she knows, it’s 3 days later and she’s now an inmate at the penitentiary for brutally murdering her husband. Now, with images of the girl haunting her, she must piece together what has happened to her.

Plot: Austin’s hottest DJ, Jungle Julia (Poitier), sets out into the night to unwind with her two friends Shana (Ladd) and Arlene (Ferlito). Covertly tracking their moves is Stuntman Mike (Russell), a scarred rebel leering from behind the wheel of his muscle car, revving just feet away from his next intended victims.

Plot: A doctor (Brolin) finds his graveyard shift inundated with townspeople ravaged by sores. Among the wounded is Cherry (McGowan), a dancer whose leg was ripped from her body. As the invalids quickly become enraged aggressors, Cherry and her ex-boyfriend Wray (Rodriguez) lead a team of accidental warriors into the night.

The Grudge (2004)

Plot: Karen Davis (Gellar) has followed her boyfriend (Behr) to Tokyo for college, and works at a local care center for the elderly. Karen’s first patient: an elderly woman living in a mysterious house. After the unexpected death of the woman, Karen, now haunted by eerie visions, begins investigating the background of the house. The more she uncovers about the house, the more she has to fear. Based on the movie Ju-On: The Grudge.

The Guardian (2006)

Plot: After his crew dies during a rescue operation, legendary rescue swimmer Ben Randall (Costner) is sent to “A” school to train the next generation of swimmers. While there, he meets cocky young swim champ Jake Fischer (Kutcher). Seeing potential in the young upstart, Randall pushes Jake to his limits while at the same time trying to overcome his own nightmares and become a rescue swimmer once more.
