TV To Watch: ‘24′

Plot: Special Agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) has only 24 hours to save the world. The show is set in real-time (each hour-long episode takes place within an hour, each 24 episode season takes place within the same day).

24 has become must-see TV for me since I watched an A&E marathon 2 years ago. This action-packed show has brought Kiefer Sutherland into the limelight once again, and once you watch, you’ll know why.

Each second of every episode is so full of pulse-pounding intrigue, danger and excitement - and more intense than anything I’ve ever seen on a television show.

With new twists and turns popping up all over the place, 24 has become one show that will keep the viewer locked-in until the end…not of the episode, but of the series as a whole.

I can’t say enough about this show. It has become easily my favorite show on television. Last season the producers shocked loyal viewers once again by proving that they aren’t shy about killing off even regular cast members on the show.

Probably the biggest annoyance of the show is that it’s only on once a week! At least there’s some good news: unlike other shows, once the season begins, there is a new episode every week until the season is finished.

Just as an example of how addicting 24 is: I recently bought Season 1 on DVD. Rather than being able to watch just one episode a day (which seems a bit excessive), I finished the season in one weekend. I just couldn’t stop watching. And that was arguably the weakest season so far.

Be prepared. Once you start watching this amazing show, you won’t be able to stop.

Season 6 begins January 14th and 15th on Fox.
